Sangsad Bhaban, Jul 6 (UNB) - The government has planned import of refined soybean and palm oils through the Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) before Ramadan to keep prices normal by forestalling any market syndication, Commerce Minister Faruk Khan informed Parliament Monday.
Against the backdrop of the past market crisis, he asserted that the present government would not allow "any syndicate to manipulate prices of essentials".
Referring to the previous price manipulations by some syndicates, the army-man- turned-politician said at that time "the government had failed or had link with the syndicates to loot money from the commoners' pocket".
