BOSTON - With every passing season, Tim Wakefield finds himself in better baseball company.
Two days after passing Roger Clemens for making the most starts in Red Sox history, Wakefield joined Hall of Famers Ted Williams and Carl Yastrzemski as the only 40-plus Sox to be selected to the American League All-Star team.
Wakefield, 42, found out yesterday that he and teammates Jason Bay, Dustin Pedroia, Josh Beckett, Kevin Youkilis and Jonathan Papelbon will represent the AL on July 14 at the All-Star Game in St. Louis.
Boston's six All-Stars are two more than any other team.
