In March last year, I was fortunate to travel to Cuba and meet many members of the Cuban Jewish community, who, in light of the collapse of the Soviet Union, were rebuilding their congregations with the help of the Joint Distribution Committee and many other Jewish organizations in the United States and Argentina.
By coincidence, this year I also spent a few days in March among Cuban Jews, but this time in south Florida. The occasion was Purim, and as I was already in the area to give a few talks, I was invited to celebrate
