On a rare night like this, the Mariners could walk away from a 12-4 loss with hope.
Because long before the Baltimore Orioles tore up three Mariners relievers -- next week's All-Star break cannot come early enough for this bullpen -- Erik Bedard took the mound on Tuesday night with plenty resting on his rehabilitated left shoulder.
Either way you look at it, a healthy, dominant Bedard could dramatically alter the second half of the season. After a month on the disabled list, Bedard could be the missing piece that boosts the Mariners closer to contention. Or the free-agent-to-be could become the ...
