BALTIMORE, Md., Feb. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has chosen Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) to compete for the next phase in the procurement of the Airport Surveillance Radar-Weather Systems Processor (ASR-WSP).
The ASR-WSP program will enhance the weather detection capabilities of the Northrop Grumman-built ASR-9 airport surveillance radar, which detects and displays aircraft and weather simultaneously to help air traffic controllers guide aircraft through crowded skies surrounding airports.
Selection for this program qualifies the company to compete in a second round of proposals expected to be tendered ...
