BALTIMORE, Feb. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Jardine Fleming China Region Fund, Inc., a closed-end investment company listed on the New York Stock Exchange, reported a 17.2% decline in net asset value for the year ended December 31, 1997. The return includes reinvestment of dividends paid since inception on July 16, 1992.
The share price on the NYSE at the end of December 1997 was US$9.75, down from US$11.38 on December 31, 1996. Total net assets at the end of 1997 were US$107.5 million compared with US$130.2 million a year ago.
