DERRY'S attempt to get Kevin McGuckin's suspension overturned in time for tonight's big All-Ireland SFC qualifier re-match with Monaghan have failed, despite Tyrone's Sean Cavanagh submitting a letter in McGuckin's defence.
The team's star corner-back was sent off in their Ulster semi-final last month and Derry officials were confident he would be successful in contesting his four-week ban to the Central Hearings Committee (CHC).
