Cairo: Apparently emboldened by protests in Iran against the killing of an Egyptian Muslim woman in Germany earlier this month, Egyptian activists have vowed to go ahead with their protests across the nation until "the blood of the 'hijab martyr' is avenged."

"So far we have organised four protests despite the heavy security presence," Ahmad Abdullah, an Islamist activist, said. "We'll continue these protests until the Egyptian government stops ignoring the trouble and humiliation faced by Egyptians abroad," he told Gulf News.
