Jul 12, 2009 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- There will be great economic benefits for Western Australia (WA) if Chevron goes ahead with the $A50 billion Gorgon natural gas project. Chevron needs the support of its two partners, ExxonMobil and Shell, for the investment. The WA Government is keen for the project to proceed but it needs approval from the WA Environment Minister, Donna Faragher. Chevron has already awarded contracts worth over $A1.7 billion.
