The Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee government has approached several public and private sector banks, including State Bank of India, for a Rs 500-crore (US$105 Million) credit line for its proposed move to create a land bank for upcoming industrial projects in the state. The ruling Left Front government is keen to complete all land acquisitions for pending industrial ventures before the 2011 assembly elections.
