A total of 10 groups expressed interest in the planned Muharraq wastewater treatment plant project by attending meetings with Bahrain's Works Ministry on 7 July. The groups met with the ministry's project committee and its advisers, Germany's Fichtner, UK bank HSBC and UK law firm Norton Rose.
The bidding groups include France's Veolia Water, which originally prequalified on its own but has now teamed up with Singapore's Keppel Seghers Engineering. Degremont, also of France, has joined forces with Japan's Sumitomo Corporation.
