Plans to revamp the facade of the St Colman s House on Oliver Plunkett Street which is owned by Mullingar Credit Union have now been passed by An Bord Pleanala.
Credit Union manager Tom Allen confirmed this morning (Tuesday) that the building work would go ahead and that the board now needed to sit down with architects to put together a plan of action.
The plans will see the Town Mall demolished and replaced by a modern glass fronted three storey building - but the throughway from Oliver Plunkett Street which local businesses feared would be closed over, will be retained, the planning authority has said.
