As Latin American education companies continue to see furious consolidation, one could be tempted to dismiss education buys as purely a Latin American phenomenon. Sterling Partners would beg to differ. The private equity firm has orchestrated a series of education-related acquisitions in the domestic U.S.

Most recently, Sterling bought a control stake in The Paul Green School of Rock Music, a music instruction center franchiser. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
