I love Tina Brown when she lays down the editorial baton at The New Yorker and takes up her pen. Who can forget the incisive way she went to the heart of the matter after Princess Diana's death: "My first thoughts were of place and time"--Paris, in August--"of the wrongness of any royal princess, even a divorced one, contriving to be in that place at that time."
