COUNTRYSIDE: This is in support of disposable diapers. I haven't actually done the math on whether they are more or less expensive than cloth, but I know they are convenient, which can count for a lot on a homestead.
Diapers cost us about $10 a week, which seems like a lot of money. But they save time, which enables me to bake bread, clean the house, etc., etc.
You see, I use a wringer washing machine, and a clothesline or rack. It would take me hours to do diapers, since they would have to be done every day, and then I would not be able to use that time to do other things that save money. If I can bake a loaf of bread for 26[cents] rather than buying a ...
