Over the years a few Countrysiders have written to me after reading some of the articles I've contributed, wondering what South Dakota is like.
I have often wondered why more homesteaders don't choose South Dakota. Our state is not very populated and if the truth be known, we are not anxious to have riff-raff move in. But Countryside readers for the most part are fine people and we could use a few more fine people.
I don't know what people envision when they think of South Dakota. My people have lived here since the 1860s so they were the real, true homesteaders. I went to college in a southern state and found that most people have no idea where ...
