OUTFITS FROM THE DUKE OF WINDSOR, A STYLE ICON, COULD BECOME TROPHIES
NEW YORK -- They are expected to converge upon the auction from the four corners of men's wear -- clothing, haberdashery, retail and, of course, fashion.
The sale of the remaining pieces of the Duke of Windsor's wardrobe next Thursday at Sotheby's has attracted the attention of the likes of Ralph Lauren and the leading executives of Brioni, Oxxford Clothes, Neiman Marcus and Burberrys.
"Anybody who is anybody will be there," said Derrill Osborn, vice-president of men's tailored clothing at Neiman Marcus.
"It's going to be crazy," said Joe Barrato, CEO of Brioni USA.
