Pauline Austin
Mary "Pauline" Austin of Eugene died May 31 of heart failure at age 67. A memorial service will be held later.
She was born April 9, 1942, in Ellis County, Kan., to Paul and Wava Tallman.
She married David Austin in 1960 in Florence. They divorced in the mid-1990s.
She held an associate's degree from Southwestern Oregon Community College. She had worked as a free-lance writer for The World in Coos Bay, as a stringer for KOBI television and as a news anchor for KCBY television.
