Several member states requested clarifications, on 10 July, within the 133 Committee, before giving the green light to the compromise reached between the European Commission and Seoul in the negotiation of a free trade agreement (FTA). "The Commission presented the final compromise package that addresses all the outstanding issues, those on rules of origin and duty drawback. The member states understand that there will be no further negotiations but some have asked for more time to examine the agreement's details," explained Lutz Gullner, spokesman for Commissioner Catherine Ashton.
