ALBANY -- Downtown Troy won't be without a hardware store for long.
Just a few weeks after Trojan Hardware closed its doors, Jeffrey and Deane Pfeil are preparing to open Pfeil Hardware.
They plan to open the new store in early September on the street level of the former Stanley's Department Store -- a building they've transformed into a luxury apartment building called The Conservatory.
The Pfeils, a husband and wife team with decades of experience in commercial real estate, retail leasing and marketing, say they are aiming to create a business that has the traditional feeling of an old-time urban hardware store and, at the same time, is in ...
