Press brakes have taken a while to align with the latest advances in automation. While laser cutters and punch presses have whirred away unattended for a number of years, the sight of an operator feeding parts into a press brake has remained common. But an increasingly competitive marketplace for machine tool and automation technology has seen a dip in prices in relative terms, allowing greater access to robots for mid-size shops.
