"The oxidant and antioxidant status were investigated in calves with acute and chronic bronchopneumonia (n = 15 and n = 12, respectively) as well as in healthy animals (n = 22). Blood concentrations of thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS), lipid peroxides (LPO), reduced glutathione (GSH) and glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) superoxide dismutase (SOD) catalase (CAT) activities were measured in all subjects," investigators in Irbid, Jordan report.
