Article: Study results from Oita University, Medical Department provide new insights into ischemia.(Report)

According to recent research published in the journal Experimental Biology and Medicine, "We tested the hypothesis that the protective effects of hyperthermia (HT) could be augmented by ischemic postconditioning (PostC) via enhancement of reperfusion-induced Akt phosphorylation. The role of the mitoK(ATP) channel as an effecter to protect hearts against ischemia/reperfusion injury was also investigated."
