ParAccel, Inc., announced that the ParAccel Analytic Database, a high-speed, low-effort, massively parallel (MPP) columnar database management system (DBMS) for data warehousing and analytics, running on Sun Fire X4540 storage servers and OpenSolaris, set TPC-H (ad-hoc-decision support) benchmark world records for performance and price-performance at the 30-terabyte scale factor. The TPC-H-audited Sun-ParAccel configuration ran 7 times faster and provided 16 times better price-performance than the previous category leader. With this breakthrough benchmark, ParAccel also announces support for the OpenSolaris 2009.06 Operating System (OS).
