Blow molder Alpla Inc. plans to invest $7.2 million to open a new plant in Raeford, N.C., Gov. Bev Perdue announced July 8.
The plant will employ 40 within three years, officials said.
Parent company Alpla-Werke Alwin Lehner GmbH & Co. KG of Hard, Austria, has operations in North America, South America, Europe and Asia. The company posted annual sales of more than $3.2 billion, with more than 10,000 employees worldwide and production facilities in 34 countries.
