VICTORIA - Effective immediately, the allowable annual cut for Tree Farm Licence 45 (TFL 45), on British Columbia's south-central coast, will be reduced from 220,000 cubic metres to 175,000 cubic metres, deputy chief forester Melanie Boyce announced today.
The new allowable annual cut reflects the implementation of ecosystem-based management as committed to under the 2006 Central Coast Land Use Decision, which reduces the amount of land available for timber harvesting.
