Poland's population is approximately 39 million, of whom 62% live in towns with over 100,000 inhabitants. About 22 million Poles are of working age, according to a study prepared by Jana Elton of the Alliance Tea Co. of Warsaw.
On a per capita volume basis, Poland is the third largest tea market in Europe after the U.K. and Ireland. A wide variety of teas is consumed, and regional differences occur.
