According to a study from People's Republic of China, "Patinopecten yessoensis is a kind of cold water shellfish, and is an important economic species in China. In our study, we developed and evaluated simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers of P. yessoensis."
"Characteristics of 11 EST-SSR loci were investigated using 40 P. yessoensis individuals. The number of alleles per locus ranged from two to five.
