TAMPA, Fla., March 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Shells Seafood Restaurants, Inc. (Nasdaq: SHLL) today announced that an agreement has been signed with Chi- Chi's, Inc. to acquire up to seven restaurant locations in the state of Illinois, many of which are in the Chicago market. The properties are expected to be acquired by Shells on a staggered basis during the second and third quarters of 1998, subject to, among other things, satisfactory completion by Shells of its due diligence process and certain requisite landlord consents and governmental licenses and permits being obtained.
