Commercial Bank of Dubai (CBD) said that its operating profit in the first six months of 2009 rose 3.2 per cent to AED 599 million ($163 million) compared to AED 580 million in the same period of 2008.

The net profit for the first half of 2009 amounted to AED 502 million ($136.6 million) compared to AED 566 million a year earlier. Net profit for the second quarter was AED 268 million ($72.9 million), which represents a 14.4 per cent increase compared to AED 233 million for the first quarter of this year.
