This volume, published in 1992, is a classic work in the political economy of agrarian reform in the Philippines. Students from a broad range of disciplines and sub-disciplines have benefited tremendously from this work - and many more will. It is quite comprehensive and incisive. The information database used to support the book's main argument is massive. Moreover, the scholarly literature Putzel draws upon is equally voluminous.
