The story about rose veal in the July 17 Taste section included quotes from a People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals representative that do not reflect the practices of the farmers featured. Carrie Johnson of Jordandal Farm, Argyle, said that their calves are killed with one shot to the head - "quick and pain-free, never knowing what is happening" - rather than hung upside down to have their throats slit.
