Since George L. K. Morris stumbled upon Marie Larisch's My Past (1913) in Provence and published his ground-breaking article (1954) showing its presence in T. S. Eliot's The Waste Land, critics such as Herbert Knust (1967), B. C. Southam (1968), Grover Smith (1974), James Miller (1977), and recently Robert Schwarz (1988) have drawn many more interesting connections between the two texts.
