PETROLIAM Nasional Bhd, Malaysia s state oil company, will pay 71 per cent more than Reliance Industries Ltd to rent a drillship, reflecting the demand for equipment to drill in deep water areas, Transocean Ltd said.

Petronas, as the Malaysian oil producer is known, and BHP Billiton Ltd will pay US$640,000 a day to rent Deepwater Expedition from Transocean, the world s largest offshore oil driller, starting in November 2010 to drill in Malaysian deep waters, according to a report on the driller s Web site.
