Several months have passed since the passage of a law allowing New Jersey school districts to pool their cash, and while word has been slow in spreading, at least one organization has begun to pursue investment opportunities for its members.
New Jersey school districts are planning to vote on the formation of a local investment pool at a meeting in June. If approved, the state will join districts in other states who have formed school district-only pools.
The proposed pool takes advantage of a recently passed state Assembly bill allowing school districts and municipalities to hire licensed dealers and brokers to invest their short-term cash. Previously, ...
