Mar. 24--Associated Wholesale Grocers, the country's sixth-largest grocery wholesaler, has picked a new president and chief executive officer.
Doug Carolan, who joined the Kansas City, Kan.-based grocery wholesaler as vice president of marketing in 1983, was promoted Monday by the organization's board of directors.
"The past few years have seen Associated Wholesale Grocers emerge as a powerful force within our industry, and we intend to continue this aggressive philosophy," Carolan said.
