Most studies on leadership in preschool children have focused on the relationship between their leadership behaviors and various attributes. Fukada, Fukada, and Hicks (1994) pointed out that those studies could be classified into three types according to the number of dimensions examined or the kind of leadership behaviors measured. The first type of study treats leadership in preschool children as a unidimensional phenomenon and as a single kind of behavior. The second type of study treats leadership in preschool children as unidimensional but subdivided into two types. The third type of study treats leadership in preschool children as two-dimensional.
