ONE SMALL step for man led to one giant leap for two brothers from Porthcawl when they met their astronaut hero Buzz Aldrin.

Forty years after the Apollo landing, Richard and Robert Godwin can still vividly recall watching the footage on TV at their mum's pub, The Seahorse, as two excited young boys, aged 14 and 10.

"On the night of the moon landing I was allowed to stay up to watch it in the living room upstairs above the pub," said Robert.
