Electricians dispute on edge as employers reject new deal
FEARS were growing last night that the bitter electricians dispute may re-ignite after a major employers group rejected the Labour Court settlement recommendations.
Employers' groups have been consulting over the past fortnight on the Labour Court's terms for a settlement of the dispute which brought work on most construction sites to a halt as the TEEU mounted high-profile pickets.
More than 10,000 electricians nationwide supported the TEEU action -- and some firms were forced to seek High Court injunctions to prevent their plants being picketed.
