Article: Ernst & Young LLP Finds Signs of New IPO Activity, Despite Fewer Deals in the Pipeline.

NEW YORK, July 23 /PRNewswire/ -- The IPO pipeline stood at 28 registrants as of June 30, 2009, down 36 percent from the 44 registrants as of Q1 (March 31, 2009), according to the quarterly Ernst & Young LLP US IPO Pipeline study. This reflects both renewed IPO activity and the aging of older registrants.

In fact, eight companies entered into registration in Q2 and only two were withdrawn. Another 10 companies went effective in Q2, up from two deals in Q1, making this one of the most active quarters in some time. Fifteen registrants passed the one-year expiration for inclusion in the study.
