Dhaka, July 23 (UNB) - Bangladesh has sought US$ 500 million from Asian Development Bank (ADB) for the current fiscal year in addition to its regular budgetary support to help face the impact of global economic slowdown.
"They (ADB) will take decision in this regard after having proposals from other member countries... I think it's an acceptable demand," Finance Minister AMA Muhith told reporters after a meeting with ADB President Haruhiko Kuroda at the Finance Ministry.
Kuroda arrived in Dhaka today on a two-day visit ostensibly to reaffirm support for the country's socioeconomic development which came under pressure due to the global economic crisis.
