"Cholesteryl ester transfer protein (CETP) gene polymorphism is known to be associated with changes in lipid profiles. Primary hyperlipidaemia is considered to be a major risk factor for pancreatitis, atherosclerosis and coronary heart disease," scientists in Iran report (see also Life Sciences).
