The Carl Junction City Council has approved an engineering contract for the third phase of the Thom Station trail project.
The council on Monday night agreed to pay the Joplin engineering firm of Allgeier, Martin & Associates Inc. $23,903 for design services and $20,163 for construction-engineering services.
The third phase of the Thom Station project will extend the trail from south of Briarbrook Drive to the north end of Copper Oaks. The project will include work on the abandoned railroad bed and drainage work.
