Mar. 24--Roszetta Anderson, a 58-year-old widow and beauty shop owner, panicked when she faced more than $10,000 in unpaid medical bills last year. Then she heard about Debra Lupe.

Lupe, owner of Medical Recovery & Consulting Experts in Inverness, audits medical bills to find errors and overcharges. She reviewed Anderson's bills, which represented charges Anderson's Blue Cross/Blue Shield policy refused to pay on two neck operations. After four months of hammering the outpatient clinic for answers and documentation, Lupe got the clinic to waive the bill.
