NEW YORK -- Long a quiet force in Paris fashion, blending the influences of Eastern and Western cultures into simple, thought-provoking designs, Barbara Bui is suddenly making a lot of noise on both sides of the Atlantic.
She's in New York this week to celebrate the opening of her new 4,500-square-foot store at 117 Wooster Street. On March 31, she'll stage her fall runway show at the Pavilion in Bryant Park, skipping Paris for the season. And early next month, her company plans to go public on Paris's Nouveau Marche, the French equivalent of NASDAQ. ...
