MADISON, N.J., and TOKYO, March 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Schering-Plough Corporation (NYSE: SGP) and Chugai Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. of Japan today announced an agreement giving Schering-Plough exclusive worldwide marketing rights, excluding Japan, to Chugai's maxacalcitol (22-oxacalcitriol), a vitamin D3 analog for the topical treatment of psoriasis. Schering-Plough expects to begin Phase II clinical trials on the compound shortly.
Under terms of the agreement, Schering-Plough will pay Chugai an upfront payment with subsequent milestone payments once specified clinical and regulatory goals are achieved. Chugai will also receive royalty payments on all product ...
