Volkswagen AG has split the work of building the paint shop at its Chattanooga, Tenn., factory between two German suppliers.
Eisenmann AG, of Boeblingen, will be the general contractor for the plant, which will have an annual capacity of 150,000 vehicles. But Duerr AG, a rival based here, will receive a large share of the project as a subcontractor.
Eisenmann will provide the entire pretreatment line, which mainly includes dip tanks for the primer and a complex conveyor system.
