Nippon Paper Chemicals Co., Ltd. and Cosmo Oil Co., Ltd. have conducted a feasibility study on biomass ethanol production since April last year, which revealed several technological challenges regarding the second-generation biomass ethanol production using woody materials, as reported by Nippon Paper.
