THIS coming Thursday the Jewish community will mark the fast of Tisha Biav - the saddest day in the Jewish calendar.
Throughout our history there have been many sad events which have taken place on this date. Both the Holy Temples in Jerusalem were destroyed on this date, the Spanish inquisition, the First World War and many other sad events all seem to have fallen on the same date.
As it begins to get dark on Wednesday evening, Jews all around the world will attend their local Synagogues, sit together on the floor and begin to recite prayers of hope as we mourn over our sad loss. The fast will last 25 hours until ...
