One might expect a book titled ``Star-Spangled Men'' to apply to our ``best'' or ``greatest'' presidents _ who, according to the most recent polls among historical scholars, turn out to be (in chronological order) George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Andrew Jackson, James Polk, Abraham Lincoln, Grover Cleveland, Theodore Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson, Franklin D. Roosevelt and Harry S Truman.
But no. Nathan Miller's decidedly capricious entry focuses on the 10 ``worst'' presidents, based not on historians' consensus but entirely on Miller's often-whimsical evaluations.
